About the opportunity

As our Retail Customer Service Officer, you’ll play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience. Every year, around one million customers walk into one of our Australia Post Offices. It’s our retail teams who make sure that every experience they have is a positive one. They are supported by a welcoming team, ongoing training, and career development opportunities.

  • Casual position at Hamilton Post Office
  • Extensive training on commencement, from Monday to Friday, 5-hour shifts daily for the first 8 weeks
  • Post-training, work includes a mix of scheduled and unscheduled shifts, Monday to Friday, between 8:45 am and 5:06 pm
  • Loaded casual rate of $33.66/hour, increasing to $35.98/hour after approximately 3 months, plus 12% Superannuation

You will be

  • Performing customer sales and service transactions
  • Managing high-value transactions accurately (cash, cheques, credit cards, EFTPOS)
  • Conducting identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews
  • Promoting products and services through up-selling, cross-selling, merchandising, and promotional activities
  • Assisting customers with mail lodgements and associated costs
  • Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs
  • Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance
