Job summary

Community Living Hamilton is hiring a Regular, Part-Time Retail Clerk – Key Holder for our Drop N Shop store. You will provide exceptional customer service, manage cashier duties, and help maintain a welcoming shopping environment in a busy, community-focused setting.

The role requires 3–5 years of retail experience, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with diverse client groups. Proof of vaccination and a police check are required, with language skills beyond English considered a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of retail sales experience; thrift store experience is an asset
• Positive attitude and a true appreciation for diverse abilities
• Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination
• Valid Police record check
• Fluency in a language other than English preferred; experience with diverse client groups preferred
• Additional formal training in Mental Health or ASD is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming retail environment and respond to customer complaints and feedback
• Handle cashier responsibilities and open/close store
• Organize and clean store, based on federal, provincial and public health directives
• Set up displays and receive donations
• Process donations by loading/unloading, sorting, packing, hanging, pricing, and storing donations
• Sort, process and replenish merchandise
• Contribute to meeting store sales targets and provide efficient courteous customer service
• Demonstrate superb conflict resolution and teamwork when needed

Responsibilities

To provide customer service to patrons in a retail environment responding to customer complaints and feedback and maintaining a professional and welcoming retail atmosphere.
