Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

In accordance with established procedures, policies, and available tools, the successful candidate is responsible for handling inbound traffic in-store and outbound calls from all Cogeco systems in a timely and professional manner. The mandate is to maximize all sales opportunities, resolve customer issues, and ensure an optimal level of quality customer service.

This role focuses on providing efficient and friendly service to customers visiting the Cogeco retail store. Responsibilities include promoting products and services, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering professional service. The ideal candidate is driven, goal-oriented, competitive, resilient, and comfortable overcoming rejection to pursue sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively promote Cogeco products & services, providing solutions to meet customer needs, and scheduling orders using necessary tools.
  • Engage in face-to-face interactions to encourage customers to choose Cogeco for Cable TV, Internet, and phone services.
  • Highlight features and benefits of products and services, demonstrating sales techniques confidently.
  • Upsell and promote products with new and existing customers, utilizing various sales techniques.
  • Make outbound calls to customer lists to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Retain customers considering cancellation or service reduction by being proactive, sincere, and empathetic.
  • Resolve billing inquiries, process credits/debits, and initiate refunds with supervisor approval.
  • Input customer requests accurately into systems.
  • Manage assets, including returns, exchanges, and equipment distribution.
  • Participate in sales training and procedural updates.
  • Ensure health and safety measures are followed, including use of PPE and compliance with policies.
  • Respond to customer needs promptly, resolving issues professionally.
  • Support departmental requests and perform special projects as assigned.
  • Assist at other store locations if needed.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Training
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary preferred.
Work Experience
  • 1-3 years in sales and customer service.
Core Competencies
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Consistently meet or exceed KPIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional etiquette.
  • Ability to build genuine customer connections.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to resolve problems independently.
  • Flexible with work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with PCs, Windows environment, and Google Suite is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
