Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

In accordance with established procedures, policies, and available tools, the successful candidate is responsible for handling inbound traffic in store and outbound calls from all Cogeco systems in a timely and professional manner. The mandate is to maximize all sales opportunities, resolve customer issues, and ensure an optimal level of quality customer service.

This role focuses on providing efficient and friendly service to customers visiting the Cogeco retail store. Responsibilities include promoting products and services, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering professional service. The ideal candidate is highly driven, consistently meets or exceeds targets, thrives on competition, is resilient, and comfortable overcoming rejection to pursue sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell, upgrade, and promote Cogeco products and services. Provide solutions to meet customer needs. Schedule and input orders using necessary tools.
  • Engage face-to-face with customers to promote Cogeco as their provider of Cable TV, Internet, and phone services.
  • Highlight features and benefits of all products, demonstrating sales behaviors confidently.
  • Upsell products and services, using various techniques to maximize sales.
  • Make outbound calls to customer lists to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Retain customers wishing to cancel or reduce services, demonstrating empathy and proactive communication.
  • Resolve billing inquiries, process credits/debits, and initiate refunds with supervisor approval.
  • Accurately input data for all customer requests.
  • Manage assets, including returns, exchanges, and equipment distribution.
  • Participate in sales training and procedural updates.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide excellent service, addressing customer needs promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with departmental requests and special projects.
  • Support other storefronts as needed.
Essential Qualifications

Academic Training:

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years in sales and customer service.

Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds KPIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional etiquette.
  • Ability to build genuine customer connections.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Open to change and continuous learning.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is an asset.
  • Proficient in navigating multiple applications.
  • Flexible with work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous face-to-face and outbound sales experience required.
  • Experience with PCs and Windows environment; familiarity with Google Suite preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Standing for extended periods and occasional lifting (at least 20 lbs).
