Overview

The Assistant Store Manager will report to the Store Manager and is responsible for assisting the store management team in supervising and facilitating daily store operations according to set goals and business objectives. Daily operations include staff scheduling, supervision, customer satisfaction, product quality assurance, store maintenance, and health and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

• Assist in supervising and facilitating daily store operations.
• Oversee store responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support personnel management activities such as interviews, promotions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions, when requested.
• Provide guidance and instruction to store associates as needed.
• Maintain store conditions to established standards.
• Assist in creating weekly staffing schedules to meet business needs, when requested.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper communication and expectations.
• Greet and assist customers, demonstrating exemplary conduct.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant legislation.
• Handle customer complaints appropriately.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
• Assist in inventory management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Must have QCW and Sell Safe certification – mandatory.
• At least 3 years of retail industry experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in retail.
• Strong service orientation.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to train and motivate staff.
• Skills to monitor and assess staff performance.
• Basic office administration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Effective teamwork skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
