Job summary

A senior living community in Ontario is seeking a Restorative Care Coordinator to deliver restorative care and enhance residents' lives. The ideal candidate will have a related degree or diploma and knowledge of dementia care. Responsibilities include maintaining care records and educating staff. Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MDS/assessment tool and coding techniques.

  • Provide restorative care including personal care according to policies and resident care plan.
  • Maintain accurate records of restorative care delivered.
  • Educate team members to assist in delivery of Restorative Care program.

The Restorative Care Coordinator is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.

As a Restorative Care Coordinator your typical day will impact in the following ways :

  • Providing for restorative care including personal care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, and resident plan of care within the scope of practice.
  • Assisting in maintaining an environment appropriate to meet residents individualized needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records of restorative care delivered.
  • Educating Personal Support Workers, Dietary, Nursing, and Volunteers to assist in the delivery of the Restorative Care program.
  • Demonstrating professional working knowledge of all equipment used in the delivery of nursing care.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Must haves :

  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary degree and / or a two-year diploma with a restorative focus at the community college level in a health related field inclusive of PTA / OTA assistant program with relevant restorative course supplemented by the restorative care program certificate program.
  • Knowledge of the specific needs of older adults diagnosed with dementia.
  • Knowledge of MDS / assessment tool and coding techniques.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
