Job summary

Jarlette Health Services is seeking a Restorative Care Aide for Avalon Care Centre in Orangeville, ON. The role focuses on delivering restorative care and supporting resident independence and safety.

You will assist with ADLs, mobility, and therapy programs under supervision, while documenting progress and adhering to safety guidelines. Strong communication with the care team is essential.

Qualifications

• Restorative care training completed or currently enrolled
• Course overseen by a licensed therapist as required under Ontario legislation
• Active pursuit of continuing education
• Demonstrated flexibility, innovation and creativity
• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation or long-term care is an asset
• Computer literacy required

Responsibilities

• Deliver restorative care services to residents
• Perform direct resident care including ADLs, mobility and feeding
• Assess and address restorative care needs and progress
• Implement therapy programs (Physio, OT, Speech) and document outcomes
• Maintain safety and OHSA compliance and participate in CQI and Risk Management
• Collaborate across disciplines and pursue ongoing education

Avalon Care Centre is a fully accredited long term care home in Orangeville, Ontario and serves 137 residents. The community is known for its welcoming, diverse population and serves as a growing hub with a good balance of cultural attractions and outdoor activities.

Join our team as a Restorative Care Aide!

Under the direction of the Restorative Care Coordinator, the Restorative Care Aide will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of restorative care services.

This role involves providing comprehensive resident care and rehabilitation support, with a strong focus on promoting resident independence and safety. Key responsibilities include direct resident care (ADLs, mobility, feeding), assessing and addressing restorative care needs, executing therapy programs (Physio, OT, Speech), and meticulously documenting resident status and progress. The role also requires strict adherence to safety and OHSA guidelines, active participation in CQI and Risk Management, effective interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing education.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits

• Successful completion of training program in restorative care, or are enrolled in such a program; or

• Have successfully completed a relevant training course provided by the licensee that is designed and supervised by a qualified therapist who is a member of the appropriate college of a regulated health professional as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 79 and Ontario Regulation 67/22 (2).

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Must be flexible, innovative and creative

• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation or Long Term Care (Gerontology) is an asset.

• Must be computer literate
