Job description

At Pro-Claim Canmore Restoration, we exist to restore lives, the planet, and communities.

When disaster strikes, we help our neighbours get back to where they belong: home. As a locally rooted restoration company, we understand the unique challenges of living and working in the Bow Valley and are committed to serving our community with care, professionalism, and efficiency.

With the support of the Pro-Claim Group, we combine small-town service with industry-leading restoration practices, technology, training, and sustainability. We focus on reducing waste, preserving building materials where practical, and restoring properties using efficient, responsible methods.

We are looking for a Restoration Technician to join our emergency and mitigation team. In this role, you will often be one of the first people on site following a water loss, helping assess the damage, stabilize the property, reduce further loss, and guide the project through the drying and mitigation process.

You will be responsible for completing detailed site assessments, identifying the extent of water migration, measuring and documenting moisture conditions, setting up drying systems, completing selective demolition where required, and monitoring affected materials through to established drying goals.

The role requires a strong understanding of restorative drying principles, moisture detection, psychrometry, water extraction, equipment placement, documentation, and safe demolition practices.

You will regularly use moisture meters, thermo-hygrometers, thermal imaging, and other restoration tools to identify affected areas and track drying progress. You will also assist with determining which materials may be restored in place and which require removal based on contamination, damage, accessibility, and restoration feasibility.

Responsibilities may include

  • water extraction
  • carpet cleaning
  • selective demolition
  • cleaning and disinfection
  • minor mould or bacterial remediation work where appropriate
  • contents protection
  • cabinetry protection
  • equipment setup
  • equipment monitoring

You will be expected to install and monitor drying equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, heaters, air filtration devices, and specialty drying systems as required. Drying progress must be measured, documented, and reassessed throughout the project rather than assumed.

You may also complete basic detachments to facilitate emergency work, including

  • toilets
  • washers
  • dryers
  • fridge water lines
  • dishwashers
  • sinks
  • garburators
  • plumbing fixtures
  • electrical faceplates
  • countertops
  • cabinets
  • doors
  • baseboards
  • flooring
  • drywall
  • other building materials within your level of training and authorization

Restoration Technicians are also expected to take a leadership role on site. This includes

  • delegating appropriate tasks to Labourers
  • helping train newer team members
  • maintaining safe and organized job sites
  • communicating clearly with homeowners, tenants, property managers, Project Managers, trades, and other stakeholders

Accurate documentation is a critical part of the role.

Technicians are expected to complete detailed emergency documentation, moisture records, daily activity reports, WDERs, DARs, mDARs, equipment logs, photos, sketches, and other required documentation within company systems.
