Job description

Job Title: Restaurant Supervisor at The Library Bar

The Library Bar’s timeless atmosphere is perfect for savouring artful cocktails and small plates while the conversation flows. Modeled after the bars in some of our favourite hotels, it provides an ideal backdrop for all of life’s special moments. Located inside the Arlington Hotel and part of Carmens Group, an entertainment and hospitality company, we are committed to creating extraordinary experiences for our clients and guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee food & beverage operations during restaurant hours
  • Serve as a server/bartender, providing quick and courteous service
  • Ensure consistent service steps, promote upselling, and support marketing initiatives
  • Engage with guests, answer questions, and attend to their needs
  • Manage opening and closing duties, maintain cleanliness and stock levels
  • Support guest reservations and increase bookings
  • Maintain POS system and complete daily reports
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and legislation
  • Create memorable guest experiences and gather feedback
  • Address guest issues promptly
  • Exercise good judgment and demonstrate leadership
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (asset)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • 2-3 years’ experience in hospitality or related roles
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, food & beverage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, OpenTable, and POS systems
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
