Job Description

At Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, exceptional service and flavors are the hallmarks of every dining experience. As the Restaurant Manager, your leadership and passion for guest service will drive outstanding operating results—and ensure the venue is both a preferred dining destination and workplace.

What you will be doing :

Reporting to the Director Food & Beverage, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

  1. Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
  2. Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
  3. Recruit, train, manage, mentor, lead, and develop your supervisors and colleagues
  4. Manage performance through colleague development training, problem resolution, maintaining up-to-date records on performance and audits, attendance, grooming, service deficiencies, schedules, labour costs/payroll, and late/absenteeism
  5. Work closely with Food and Beverage Trainer/Recruiter to ensure all Standards manuals are current, job task checklists are completed, and Standard Operating Procedures are followed
  6. Supervise and support employees while maintaining service standards
  7. Exhibit an entrepreneurial attitude towards the restaurant’s operation
  8. Seek creative ways to improve departmental profit through increased covers, up-selling, and performance management, taking calculated risks
  9. Handle scheduling and daily payroll reporting
  10. Maintain a constant focus on the venue's goals
  11. Assist in managing the venue within set budget guidelines
  12. Ensure cleanliness and safety of the venue
  13. Act as a liaison between venue staff and other departments
  14. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  15. Participate in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance skills and professionalism
  16. Adhere to vehicle handling and safety policies when driving hotel and guest vehicles
  17. Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  18. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include :

  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a leader in a high-end, fast-paced restaurant
  2. Excellent beverage and wine knowledge
  3. Experience with Point of Sale systems
  4. Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications

Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist with obtaining Canadian work authorization.
