Summary:

Restaurant Attendants are the eyes and ears of the kitchen, responsible for communicating important information between the expeditor and service team, ensuring dishes are delivered promptly and accurately, and providing knowledgeable descriptions of menu items to guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Transport all food items from the kitchen to dining areas, including tables, bar, patio, or private rooms.
  2. Assist servers and hosts as needed, and help with setting and clearing tables following sanitation standards.
  3. Communicate timing and order information effectively to the kitchen and service team.
  4. Describe dishes confidently and answer guest questions about ingredients and preparation.
  5. Maintain organization and stock levels at the station, and ensure professional appearance and behavior at all times.
  6. Respond promptly and graciously to guest service issues, escalating as necessary.
  7. Participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks as scheduled or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clear communication and organizational skills under pressure.
  • Ability to move gracefully and quickly in the dining area.
  • Confidence in guest interaction and basic sanitation knowledge.
  • Familiarity with computer operations and restaurant procedures.
  • Ability to learn and retain large amounts of information quickly.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry trays and other items as needed.

Experience:

  • Previous restaurant serving or customer service experience preferred.
