The Accident and Health division proudly provides a diversified array of group insurance solutions built around protecting people. Our clients include corporations of all sizes, non-profit organizations, trade unions, and associations. Our products are tailored specially for niche markets and include Basic and Voluntary AD&D, Critical Illness, Occupational Accident, Out of Province / Out of Country Medical and Business Travel Accident insurance.
How you will create an impact
- The individual’s main responsibility is to generate new business and manage existing broker / consultant relationships in our Central region (Ontario).
- The candidate will be responsible for new business pipeline management – intake of new business requests, establishing timelines, work with underwriting team to attain quotes, and follow up in a timely manner.
- Work with brokers / consultants to reach positive and profitable outcomes.
- Analyze existing A&H portfolio, and work with commercial account leaders for new and cross-sell opportunities.
- Be main point of contact for Central region brokers / consultants and triage service items to the broader A&H team.
- Represent AIG at Employee Benefit conferences, act as a thought leader for the business.
- Conduct presentations for broker / consultant community for continuing education (CE) credits.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
- 5 years previous experience in a client facing role in Accident and Health / Group Benefits insurance
- Working knowledge or established relationships with employee benefits brokers, consultants, TPAs, and MGAs
- Detail oriented problem-solving ability with a strong operational mindset
- College / University degree, post grad considered a benefit
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attainment or working towards CEBS (GBA) designation an asset
- Previous or active life insurance, or accident & sickness license an asset
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively, especially during times of high activity and tight timelines
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team-oriented approach to accomplish goals
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of AIG’s internal and external business partners
- Travel: Up to 25% of regular work duration to be spent meeting brokers / consultants / clients in territory.
