Position: Production Engineer / Ingénieur de Production
Location: Baie d’Urfé

Description of the role

Ensure packaging operations comply with procedures, deadlines, health and safety rules, standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in Canada and the USA. Support the autonomous work cell assigned to the engineer. Improve processes and methods to reduce operational costs and optimize labor costs.

Main responsibilities

Optimization and Methods:

  • Determine work methods and cycle times for existing and new products;
  • Participate in resolving performance issues related to work methods (safety, quality, productivity);
  • Deploy and maintain standardized work methods;
  • Evaluate and prioritize potential improvements based on goals (e.g., time/money savings);
  • Lead and coordinate projects to standardize work methods and operation sequences;
  • Analyze processes affecting change operations and lead improvement projects to reduce time.

Administrative Management:

  • Calculate and analyze production yields;
  • Monitor standards and analyze deviations using Horoquartz;
  • Establish necessary production documentation;
  • Optimize resource utilization;
  • Request quotes from procurement for operational needs;
  • Review technical procedures with specialists.

Technical:

  • Plan preliminary and specific operations in advance;
  • Resolve technical issues or report them to Maintenance;
  • Contribute to productivity improvements;
  • Monitor and optimize schedules;
  • Propose corrective actions with Maintenance.

Basic Requirements

  • University degree in industrial engineering or relevant experience;
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing;
  • Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Knowledge of SMED and operational excellence practices is a plus;
  • Change management experience is a plus;
  • Strong influence skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
