Job summary

Resicare Society of Calgary is seeking an experienced female respite support worker to assist a female client with developmental disabilities. The role includes in-home weekend shifts Fri-Sun, with activities such as community outings, music and arts and crafts, and supports Urdu and English communication.

The client requests a single female caregiver, no pets, and access to public transit. A diploma in Rehabilitation/Social Services and relevant certificates are required, with police clearance

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent formal education in Rehabilitation Services or Social Services.
• 2 years experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities.
• Valid First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration certificate are required.
• Current police clearance check required upon interview.
• Candidate must drive and have a valid class 5 driver license with 2 million liability.

Responsibilities

• Provide respite support in the client's home and during weekends.
• Engage the client in community outings, music, arts and crafts.
• Support the client’s Urdu and English communication needs.

Education

Diploma in Rehabilitation Services or Social Services

2 years experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities

First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration certificate

Police clearance

Driver's license class 5 with 2M liability

Job description

Resicare Society of Calgary consists of a team of professionals who are dedicated and committed to providing comprehensively integrated and high-quality support services to disabled individuals.

We are seeking an experienced Female Respite Support worker (requested by her family), preferably who speaks Urdu to support our female individual with developmental disabilities. Our client requests no pets, a single female, no kids under 10, and a home with good access to public transit.

Duties will include community outings, music, arts and crafts.

Our client speaks Urdu and English.

Respite Rate: is $139.76/24 shift.

Start Date: Immediately-1-2 weekends a month-48hr shift in your own home Fri-Sun.

• A diploma or equivalent formal education in Rehabilitation Services, Social Services and 2-year experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities.
• A valid First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration certificate are required.
• A current police clearance check is REQUIRED UPON INTERVIEW. Candidate must drive and have a valid class 5 driver's license with a 2 million liability.
