  • Understanding and knowledge of CARF standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Alberta’s FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities) program and how it supports families of children with ASD.
  • Certificate or Diploma in a Human Services field

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed, individualized support to children under 12 with ASD in home and community settings.
  • Implement IPP goals and behavior strategies.
  • Support skill-building in communication, self-regulation, social participation, and daily living routines.
  • Use de-escalation and behaviour support strategies to help children navigate.
  • Model and encourage engagement, independence, and community participation.
  • Build trust-based relationships with families, caregivers, and natural supports.
  • Liaise with caseworkers, FSCD coordinators, school personnel, and providers.
  • Complete accurate documentation and update safety plans.
  • Attend meetings and participate in ongoing autism-specific training
