Essential Duties

This Respiratory Therapist PRN is responsible for patients with respiratory and respiratory-related equipment. The therapist assesses patient needs, selects, instructs, and troubleshoots appropriate equipment, and maintains documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and documents orders for respiratory equipment and services from customers, patients, caregivers, physicians, or family members.
  • Collects additional information needed from insurance or physicians.
  • Assesses patient needs and determines the best respiratory therapy or services.
  • Instructs and educates patients, families, and caregivers on proper use and care of respiratory equipment per policies.
  • Communicates with physicians about changes in patient condition and adjusts the plan of care accordingly.
  • Completes patient documentation, including plans of care and assessments.
  • Acts as liaison between SuperCare Health and patients, families, caregivers, and physicians.
  • Assumes responsibility for actions, skills, and attitudes.
  • Follows all policies and procedures as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Provides follow-up visits and continuity of care as needed.
  • Provides 24/7 on-call service as scheduled.
  • Sets up respiratory equipment within scheduled times to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Supports marketing and other departments as needed.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and patience with patients.
  • Supports SuperCare Health by being loyal and reporting concerns.
  • Adheres to all company policies.
  • Remains knowledgeable about all products.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Education and Work Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited RT program (licensed RCP).
  • Experience as a PRN Respiratory Therapist.
  • Thorough knowledge of respiratory care.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • People-sensitive with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of background checks, references, driving records (if applicable), drug, and TB tests.
