Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous quality and safety improvements are inherent in this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Paediatric Ambulatory Programs, you will administer respiratory therapy, provide diagnostic data, and deliver clinical education to patients referred to the Paediatric Complex Respiratory Clinic and Cystic Fibrosis Clinic.

Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements, potentially involving use of a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists
  • Completion of a postgraduate course in asthma care from a recognized educational facility
  • At least one year of recent experience with paediatric patients
  • Valid BC Driver's License

  • Ability to organize workload and establish priorities
  • Effective teaching skills
