Your Opportunity:

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480.

Work in adventurous Fort McMurray at the Northern Lights Regional Hospital which serves a very diverse community in Wood Buffalo. This is an opportunity for you to join the team in the Respiratory Department in the Lead/Educator role. As the Lead/Educator your responsibility will include the supervision, training, and evaluation of staff in the department. This role includes the support and strategic decision-making such as: recruitment, assignments, mentorship, project implementation, and initial stages of discipline. You will develop orientation processes, educational programs, certification programs, as well as policies and procedures and ensure standards of practice are adhered to. This role reports to management regarding new programs and staffing resource issues you have.

Responsibility includes coordinating equipment maintenance and repair as required. Direction is provided to the discipline, facility, zone, and province which includes the scope of practice of respiratory therapists and provision of services. An integral aspect of this position is liaising with interdepartmental or provincial teams to ensure alignment. Fort McMurray resides on Treaty 8 territory and on the traditional lands of the Metis. Your Opportunity:

Joining the Respiratory Therapist (RT) team at the Northern Lights Regional Hospital in Fort McMurray offers a dynamic and fulfilling career. As an RT, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centered care across all hospital departments. You could be in Pediatrics, then called to Emergency, with finishing your day in the OR Recovery. Your role will involve assessing, treating, and educating patients, performing essential respiratory interventions like oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and airway support, while also engaging in specialized procedures such as bronchoscopies.

Your responsibilities will extend to managing and maintaining respiratory equipment and offering training to both healthcare providers and patients. Your expertise is relied on by the entire healthcare team, the patients and their families. Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Actively worked in an acute care setting, in the past 5 years, with experience in arterial line insertion and endotracheal intubation. Two years previous supervisory or mentorship experience. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Previous experience and/or training in adult education. Connect Care experience will be required once you are hired.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) an asset.
