Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Current registration with CRTO and certifications in BCLS.
  • Willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oxygen therapy and cardio/respiratory monitoring.
  • Assess and treat cardio/respiratory disorders.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care.

Description

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the providing of oxygen therapy, cardio/respiratory equipment monitoring, and the assessment and treatment of cardio/respiratory and associated disorders to maintain or restore ventilation and for diagnostic procedures related to these techniques.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Current certification in BCLS and demonstrated ongoing competency and annual recertification
  • Demonstrates competency in anesthesia technology
  • Demonstrates a cooperative and positive professional attitude
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintains effective inter-professional working relationships
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills
  • Willing and able to participate in 24/7 on-call schedule
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Knowledgeable of Indigenous culture
  • Current certification in ACLS, PALS and NRP preferred
