Position Overview

Hawkesbury General Hospital is seeking a versatile and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic clinical team. The ideal candidate will excel in assessment and stabilization of adult patients, with occasional responsibilities involving pediatric and neonatal patients. This role offers an opportunity to work in a culture of compassion, innovation, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, pulmonary education, and rehabilitation to help patients manage their conditions and improve quality of life;
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary crises, assist in restoring ventilation and blood circulation, and support the transport of unstable patients;
  • Act as a smoking cessation advisor;
  • Share expertise with students and staff;
  • Contribute to quality improvement and emergency preparedness;
  • Promote overall health and wellness.

Employment Details

  • Permanent part-time position at 0.2 FTE;
  • 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, and weekend shifts;

Qualifications

  • Diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current General Certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, without restrictions;
  • Relevant hospital experience;
  • Experience in critical care and pulmonary function testing;
  • Current BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications; PALS certification is an asset;
  • Fluent in both French and English communication.
