Job description

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Respiratory Technician to join our healthcare team. If you are conscientious, well-organized, and committed to the care and well-being of others, this is a rewarding opportunity!

In accordance with the organization’s vision and values, the Respiratory Therapist practices according to the standards of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and within a client and family-centered care model. Responsibilities include performing ongoing respiratory care for clients with various illnesses, including acute and/or chronic cardio-respiratory conditions, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The role aims to enhance quality of life from the client/family perspective and involves collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The therapist demonstrates continuous improvement, maintains and advances clinical competence, and participates in committees, teams, and research projects as assigned.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work: Days and Evenings - 06:00 to 18:00, 14:00 to 01:00 rotating.

About Dawson Creek & District Hospital: A full-service community hospital serving Dawson Creek and surrounding areas, with 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. It is the orthopedic trauma and surgical center for Northeast BC, offering services including Emergency, ICU, Day Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, Primary Care, Acute Care, Diagnostic Imaging, and Laboratory.

Visiting specialists include Urology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Construction is underway on a new hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027, featuring modern facilities and expanded services. Join us during this exciting transition!
