Position Overview

The Resource Person (RP) is responsible for patient care, ensuring safety and quality for patients and staff, and managing flow outcomes within the patient care area.

The RP provides clinical leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, adhering to the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards, the Regulated Health Professions Act, and Humber River Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

The RP contributes to the Humber River Strategy and actively promotes patient- and family-centered care and engagement.

Employment Details
  • Employment Status: Temporary Full-time
  • Duration: Until July 31, 2025
  • Reporting to: Patient Care Manager
  • Location: Humber River Hospital - Wilson Site
  • Hourly Range: $43.19 - $60.12
  • Employee Group: ONA
Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
  • Ensure effective communication regarding patient issues across shifts.
  • Assist in identifying areas for clinical practice development.
  • Maintain awareness of patient care plans and adapt as needed.
  • Participate in induction huddles and coordinate with obstetricians for procedure bookings.
Patient Care
  • Adjust staffing and assignments as needed during shifts.
  • Act as a resource and facilitate effective interdisciplinary communication.
  • Ensure care plans are current and coordinate discharge and transfer processes.
  • Collaborate with other units to ensure seamless patient flow.
Educational Responsibilities
  • Engage in continuous learning and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Identify educational needs and facilitate staff and student orientation.
Non-Clinical Responsibilities
  • Report relevant issues to management.
  • Lead daily safety and quality huddles.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current specialty certifications and BCLS required.
  • Minimum two years recent clinical experience in a related specialty.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent attendance record required.
