Job description

Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc.’s Employment Ontario Employment Services Program, known as Career Edge, requires a Resource Counsellor to provide services in its Campbellford location. This is a full-time permanent position commencing as soon as possible.

Who You Are
As a Resource Counsellor you are part of our Employment Services team and are the first point of contact for our clients. Your passion for providing exceptional customer service contributes to creating a safe and welcoming environment for clients.

You enjoy working with people, have excellent interpersonal skills, are organized, and can work effectively with a variety of software programs. This role will have you greeting clients, answering incoming telephone calls, providing clients with general information and resources and coaching clients on key employment and life skills in our Resource Centre. Responsibilities include assessing clients for available services, booking appointments and referring clients to appropriate community resources. You will also assist clients through their job search efforts including resume development, employment applications and clerical support such as printing and faxing.

· Engaging personality to work effectively with the public

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Strong research abilities to identify local resources and community supports

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment

· Knowledge of the local labour market and labour legislation

· Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, EOIS-CaMs, email, databases)

Qualifications Required:

· College diploma in a related field preferred

· Minimum of two years of related experience is preferred
