This employment opportunity is restricted to Nunavut Inuit who reside in Iqaluit only.


Reporting to the Senior Project Coordinator, the Resource Coordinator supports the Department to promptly and efficiently respond to the resource and material needs of its staff and programs by systematically organizing and delivering materials/resources to staff and programs when required. The incumbent, through their activities, ensures that the Department is sufficiently able to respond to the requirements outlined in the Education Act and Regulations, the Curriculum Renewal Plan, and the Education Program. Furthermore, the Resource Coordinator supports the Department in the application of its Project Management Process Administrative Directive and participates in/sits on Committees (as and when required) that pertain to the activities of the Division or the Department as a whole.


The Coordinator will be responsible for providing first-hand support and service to staff receiving materials and resources as well as assisting with the development of resources and materials to support the needs of the Department. The incumbent will also be responsible for informing the Director and Senior Project Coordinator of issues that require their attention and identifying opportunities, both within and external to the Division, to enhance service delivery and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.


The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a high school diploma, plus two (2) years of experience working in a comparable capacity. The following will be considered as assets: Certificate in Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent; experience in graphic design; a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a forklift.


The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
