Job description

Our spectacular Eldorado Resort is situated right on the shores of Okanagan Lake, a few kilometers south of the William R. Bennett bridge. Eldorado Resort consists of Hotel Eldorado, Manteo, and Eldorado Marina, with world-class amenities including multiple outlets, gyms, indoor and outdoor pools, boardwalk, tennis courts, and a private beach.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Resort Controller, the Resort Accountant assists with the day to day, monthly, and annual operations of the accounting department that manages Manteo Resort, Hotel Eldorado, and Eldorado Marina.


What will you be doing?

  1. Review daily revenue postings in Opera (PMS), Squirrel (POS), MOLO (Marina POS)
  2. Prepare daily revenue journal entries to be posted in Accounting System
  3. Review and Audit daily cash drops
  4. Track and record the daily gratuity/due back liability
  5. Facilitate funding for due-back distribution
  6. Reconcile Cash Balance on Monthly Basis
  7. Issue cash floats as required for new team members
  8. Audit issued cash floats on a quarterly basis
  9. Manage petty cash and prepare monthly journal entry
  10. Investigate Credit Card and Cash Variances
  11. Assist with guest inquiries related to credit card payment disputes
  12. Support the F&B Team with quarterly inventory counts and/or spot checks
  13. Communicate and enforce SOPs as directed by resort executive team
  14. Provide operational accounting and systems support to Marina team
  15. Provide vacation coverage for Accounting team members when away
  16. Credit Card / Gift Card – Reconcile daily and address any variances, IT related Moneris issues
  17. Projects as assigned

What are we looking for?

  1. Post-secondary education in Accounting or Hospitality
  2. Intermediate working knowledge in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  3. Working knowledge of accounting software
  4. 1+ years Hotel Accounting experience
  5. Credit Card / Gift Card processing and reconciling knowledge, Moneris preferred
  6. PMS software experience, Opera/Fidelio preferred
  7. POS Software experience, Squirrel preferred
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  9. Ability to meet or exceed deadlines
  10. Accuracy and attention to detail
  11. Strong administration and organizational skills
  12. Can work independently and in a team environment
  13. A flexible and adaptable to change, can-do attitude
  14. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures preferred
