Job summary

First National Financial LP in Toronto is seeking a Resolution Specialist to manage arrears in accordance with company policy. This full-time role reports to the Supervisor, Collections and requires a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities include investigating delinquent accounts, coordinating collection activity, advising clients on budgeting to avoid future delinquency, and ensuring AML compliance while delivering reliable service to lenders.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player who also works well independently.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Competency in MS Office; capacity to learn new technologies/systems
  • Shift work will be required

  • Collection/administration of portfolio.
  • Minimize exposure to monetary losses or damage to investors and corporate image.
  • Assist clients in budgeting and planning to correct existing and avoid future delinquency.
  • Assessment and collection of fees.
  • Review bankruptcy and consumer proposals and filing proof of claim when required.
  • Collection of common expenses, strata liens, tax and utility arrears.
  • Set up of arrears settlement payments.
  • Process new PAC information.
  • Provide credit ratings and mortgage verifications.
  • Collection of deficiency balances on discharged mortgages.
  • Adhere to policies /procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable.

The Opportunity

How you will contribute:

Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:
  • Periods of high volume with tight timelines
  • Long periods of stationary position/sitting
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)

  • Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
