Salary: Starting at Band 4, Step 5: $78,009 per annum
Reports to: Director of Services

Position Summary:
The Residential Program Manager oversees the Ministry-funded Hamilton’s Ministry-funded Developmental Services (DS) Intensive Support Residences (ISR) and DS Supported Independent Living (SIL) programs. The Residential Program Manager oversees the daily operations of these programs, providing supervision, oversight, and development, supporting adults with autism and developmental disabilities. The Residential Program Manager is a hands-on leader who is responsible for ensuring safe, respectful, person-centered care while empowering staff to delivery high-quality support that promotes independence and inclusion.
The Residential Program Manager works full-time on site, in person. Permission to work from home is subject to prior approval and ongoing review by the Director of Services.
Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to Including scope of practice):
- Program Leadership: Manage daily operations across various residential programs, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, legislation, and individual support plans.
- Administrative & Financial Oversight: Handle program invoicing, approve staff expenses and mileage, assist with budgeting, and support staff with client budgeting and rent payments.
- Staff & Student Supervision: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff and students across multiple sites. Provide staff with support and coaching through regular supervision and performance reviews.
- Residential Support & Engagement: Promote person-centered planning, skill-building, and community inclusion. Lead client service planning, program development, and capacity building initiatives.
- Operations & Compliance: Ensure adherence to ministry guidelines, legislative standards, and agency policies. Lead annual Quality Assurance Measures compliance review.
- Family & Partner Communication: Maintain strong communication with families, caregivers, and professionals, fostering collaboration and transparency.
- Community Involvement: Advocate for clients and families and coordinate with community partners and external service providers.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Diploma or degree in Social Services, Developmental Services, Psychology, or a related field.
- Post-graduate degree in Autism and Behavioural Sciences is considered an asset.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a similar setting.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder, developmental services, and applied behaviour analysis.
- Strong understanding of person-centered care, behavioural supports, and inclusive approaches.
- Experience with financial / budget management.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, including working with families and community partners.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call responsibilities.
- Non-violent crisis intervention and First Aid training required.
- De-escalation and conflict resolution training.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (Quality Assurance Measures, Developmental Services, Occupational Health and Safety Act) is considered an asset.
- Experience in residential services for adults with developmental disabilities or autism is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
