Job description

Community Ventures Society is a small non-profit agency providing services to adults with developmental disabilities and children & youth with special needs.Our vision is to have inclusive communities where people belong and have opportunities to contribute.

Job Summary

We have a full time program coordinator position available supporting two adults in their own home as well as managing a staff team.

*Note: this position includes both direct support (including personal care) and administrative work.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 10am-5pm

Compensation:

$28.39 per hour

The Program Coordinator strives to create a warm and comfortable home atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment for the individuals who live in the residence. The Program Coordinator will lead an effective team who ensures the well being of the residents and provides opportunities for growth and development in response to the wishes and interests of each individual.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Implement and monitor behaviour plans and person centered programs
Meeting funder (CLBC) requirements
Supervising staff team
General administration and accounting of funds.
Medication management.
Sustaining a safe and supportive home environment, supporting and fostering independence, effective communication and community access.
Aiding the person served with life skills training and self management.
Ensuring the general maintenance, upkeep, safety and security of the home.

Requirements:

Minimum two year Degree or Diploma in Human Services or a related field.
1 to 3 years previous direct experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of community based services to children/ youth with developmental disabilities and the related provincial and community support is required.
Supervisory experience is required including the ability to manage staff performance and ensure program accountability
Current First Aid Certificate to level required by CVS.
MCFD screening.
Safe, reliable car required with business insurance.
Mandt or NVCI certification.
This position requires union membership.
Ability to communicate effectively
Good organization and time management skills
First Aid/CPR, class 5 drivers license, vehicle, criminal record check.
