Full Job Description
The Conscious Builder is seeking an experienced and driven Residential/Commercial EEBA Supervisor to lead residential energy retrofit, renovation, and high-performance new home construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of construction processes, building science, and team management. As the key on-site manager, you'll ensure that every project meets the company's high standards for quality, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Project Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations on residential construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
  • Carpentry Work: Step in and perform carpentry tasks as needed to support project progress.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and guide the on-site team, subcontractors, and tradespeople to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
  • Material Management: Conduct material take-offs, manage orders, and oversee site inventory.
  • Building Science: Apply advanced knowledge of building science to create energy-efficient, high-performance homes.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and secure job site at all times.
  • Technology Utilization: Use project management software and other technology tools to manage schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, addressing questions and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Travel Flexibility: Travel to various project sites across Ottawa and surrounding areas as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Experience: 10+ years in trades, including experience managing custom homes and multi-unit residential renovations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans.
    • Knowledge of building science and energy-efficient construction practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software and general technology tools.
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record and reliable vehicle.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
    • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
