Overview

POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME, PART-TIME, CASUAL

Position Summary: This position is responsible for working effectively with team members in providing all aspects of care for youth placed in the home, including provision for their physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs.

The successful candidate will meet the following conditions of employment:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Produce satisfactory background checks;
  • Have a valid class 5 Driver’s license;
  • Be physically capable of performing all child care duties;
  • Have current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.

Furthermore the successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Ability to genuinely and supportively care for children in crisis;
  • Ability to provide guidance and supervision to the children in all daily activities;
  • Understanding of Indigenous history and its impact on children/families today;
  • Ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with co-workers;
  • Experience in completing written work such as reports, forms and logs;
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual, organized, consistent and, to show initiative;
  • Experience in preparing nutritious meals and snacks;
  • Knowledge of the CFS system and standards related to the care of children;
