Job Title: Residential Building Maintenance Worker (RBMW) Level 1 Program Instructor

Faculty Appointment Types: Full Time-Limited Term Sessional Non-NRSL

Job Summary: The College of New Caledonia’s Nechako campus requires a sessional instructor to teach the RBMW (Residential Building Maintenance Worker) Level 1 Program in Skwah First Nation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. A Certificate of Qualification and/or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate in Carpentry or related trade.
  2. Five years’ experience working in the residential construction industry.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both individual and group situations.
  4. Preference will be given to applicants with recent trade experience and proven teaching and/or supervisory experience.
  5. Provincial (BC) Instructor Diploma will be considered an asset.
  6. Previous experience working with First Nations students and communities will be considered an asset.

Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness, and personal attributes as applicable to the job classification.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety practices and foster a safety-first culture with students and in the CNC community.

You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.

You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.

Salary: $73,879 to $87,659 per year, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
