RESIDENT PROGRAM MANAGER

What you’ll be doing:
- Manage unionized and non-unionized contracted staff
- Recruit, orient, and provide ongoing learning opportunities; conduct staff investigations; manage performance and return-to-work programs; monitor attendance; approve vacation and overtime; process payroll
- Maintain staff schedules; revise job descriptions and routines
- Facilitate and coordinate meetings for Residents Council, H&S, and other teams
- Perform rotational weekend and holiday on-call manager duties
- Participate in ITDC and divisional teams such as QI, BSO, RAI-MDS, infection control, palliative care, emergency preparedness, ethics, peer group, safety group, and LTC accreditation
- Co-chair H&S Committee and oversee online safety training programs including WHMIS and AODA
Resident-Centered Care
- Oversee resident recreation admissions and quarterly assessments in collaboration with residents and caregivers
- Coordinate resident satisfaction surveys
- Develop and evaluate rehabilitative, therapeutic, and recreational programs, including Montessori, Snoezelen, music, horticultural, art therapies, and restorative mobility
- Coordinate equipment repairs and loans
- Schedule clinics with contracted providers (dental, vision, hearing, adaptive apparel)
- Coordinate accessibility transportation applications (e.g., Transhelp)
Financial Management
- Procure supplies for Activation department and special programs; assist with contract tendering; process petty cash and invoices
- Complete biweekly payroll for Activation staff
Volunteer Management
- Recruit and manage volunteers and student placements in various fields
- Build partnerships with community organizations and institutions
- Network with educational, faith, service groups, and local businesses
- Lead presentations and fundraising initiatives for Alzheimer’s Society of Peel and Farley Foundation
- Plan and facilitate volunteer appreciation activities
Computer Proficiency
- Use internet, Citrix, Publisher, Microsoft Office, and other software for various administrative and program activities
- Operate documentation and training applications including Activity Pro, payroll software, Point Click Care, and iTacit
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation, leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, social work, or related field
- Knowledge of Activation, Therapeutic Techniques, Restorative care, Montessori programming, and event planning
- 1-2 years management experience in Long-term Care
- Experience in developing and evaluating programming for diverse aging adults using a resident-centered approach
