The Company

Mainstreet Equity Corporation is a distinguished real estate company that is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Its focus is on the acquisition & upgrading of residential properties and managing a portfolio of over 18,000 residential apartments across five major Canadian cities.

Business Development, Marketing & Customer Service :

  • Generate new business, set up appointments, and conduct unit showings with prospective tenants.
  • Negotiate or approve rental or lease agreements for various properties and ensure compliance with lease terms.
  • Post rental ads to attract new tenants.
  • Respond to current and prospective tenant inquiries.
  • Address residents’ issues and service requests within 24 hours.
  • Interact with tenants in a friendly and professional manner.

Property Repair & Maintenance :

  • Coordinate with regional managers and maintenance staff to implement effective capital improvement plans.
  • Oversee repairs, maintenance, and renovations on buildings.
  • Manage tenant maintenance requests, ensuring satisfaction and timely completion.
  • Maintain firefighting and security equipment and systems.
  • Inspect buildings and vacant suites for deficiencies and report on maintenance needs.

Upkeep & Area Maintenance :

  • Manage staff for area maintenance, cleaning, garbage removal, landscaping, etc.
  • Ensure snow and ice removal, salting, and upkeep of entrances and walkways.
  • Schedule cleaning and repairs of turnover suites.
  • Handle garbage and recycling disposal.
  • Maintain underground parking, service rooms, foyers, patios, and rooftops.
  • Water gardens and lawns.
  • Clean common areas and amenity spaces.
  • Maintain garbage chutes, rooms, walls, floors, and recycling areas.

Administrative Duties :

  • Collect and deposit rental payments and manage damage deposits.
  • Use Yardi system for transactions and reporting.
  • Manage supplies and paperwork with head office.
  • Support other Resident Managers as needed.

Other Duties

  • Attend training and meetings, coordinate with utility and service providers.
  • Supervise staff, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Experience in property management, sales, or hospitality management.
  • Residential property management experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to successfully complete security clearance.
  • Flexibility to work 10 am to 7 pm, five days a week, including weekends.
  • Availability to work on the first and last day of each month.
