Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. seeks a Recreation Worker to plan, develop and run meaningful recreation and leisure activities for residents in long-term care. You will support wellbeing, purpose and community relationships, both in the home and in the community.

Responsibilities include creating engaging environments, documenting changes in residents’ participation, and collaborating with families and volunteers to enhance overall quality of life for seniors.

Qualifications

• Experience with seniors, preferably in long-term care.
• Graduate with a diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies or related field.
• Enrolled in related program with intent to complete within three years of hire.
• Alternatively, health care related degree with demonstrated recreation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing daily recreation activities in home and community.
• Create and maintain engaging spaces that support resident activity.
• Maintain communications with residents, families, volunteers and community groups.
• Observe and document changes in residents' ability to participate and update plans.
