Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Estevan and surrounding area, reporting to the Regina Material Handling Branch. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of forklift-based equipment in a shop setting and requires strong safety and documentation practices.

Ideal candidates have heavy equipment experience, journeyperson certification or equivalent, and the ability to work with customers and the service team.

Qualifications

  • Heavy equipment repair experience in shop environment.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain forklift-based equipment and attachments.
  • Strong focus on safety and proper documentation of work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working condition, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment.
  • Order parts and document actions taken on work orders.
  • Use service software and tools to document maintenance and inspections.
  • Inspect for hazards and ensure work performed to standards.
  • Test equipment and verify attachment operation after service.

Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Estevan and surrounding area, reporting to our Regina Material Handling Branch. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Forklift based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the construction & forestry equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
