SMS Equipment is currently recruiting Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our Timmins branch and support the construction side of our business. This is a resident position based in White River, Ontario; candidates must currently live in the area or be willing to relocate.

In this role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, service, and maintain excavators, loaders, dozers, mini excavators, and other construction equipment, helping ensure safe and reliable operation for our customers.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or a minimum of 7,000 hours of heavy equipment experience.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and mini excavators.
• Valid Class G driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to use a variety of diagnostic tools and approaches to troubleshoot issues.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on excavators, loaders, dozers, mini excavators, and other construction equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, component overhauls, and new equipment builds.
• Use both digital diagnostic tools and hands-on troubleshooting techniques.
• Work independently or collaboratively at customer locations, contractor and mine sites, roadside and construction sites, remote bush locations, in the shop yard, or in a service bay.
• Follow established safety procedures and actively contribute to a culture of safety.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Adapt to changing service locations and working conditions while safely supporting customer and contractor equipment in the field or at the Timmins shop.
