Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Barrie, ON is seeking a Recreation Aide to join our Long Term Care team. This permanent, full‑time role develops and delivers engaging programs that enrich residents’ lives.

You’ll assess interests, lead activities, and foster social interactions, while building meaningful relationships with residents and families. A post‑secondary diploma in recreation or related field and experience with seniors are preferred; you must be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies or related field.
• Experience working with seniors and understanding of motivation concepts.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass checks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging recreational programs for residents.
• Assess resident interests and adapt activities accordingly.
• Lead daily activities to promote physical, cognitive and emotional well-being.
• Foster resident social interactions and family engagement.
• Maintain records of programs and participation per guidelines.
