We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of Resident Engagement Assistant, a pivotal position supporting the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs designed to enhance our residents’ physical, emotional, social, and intellectual wellbeing. Working closely with the Resident Engagement Manager (REM), you will play a vital role in cultivating a vibrant and inclusive community where every resident feels valued and engaged.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Track participation and engagement data according to guidelines
- Support completion of leisure profiles on new residents within 14 days of move-in, as directed by REM
- Maintain updates to daily events, posters, and leisure bulletin boards
- Assist in preparing and distributing the monthly event calendar
- Respond to emails within 24-48 hours or during your scheduled shift
- Attend all required meetings
- Ensure adherence to IPAC and infection control protocols
- Order and maintain departmental supplies and equipment
- Maintain leisure areas and equipment to ensure a positive experience
- Work cooperatively with volunteers, students, and community groups
- Maintain positive communication about the community
- Follow policies on resident interaction and feedback documentation
- Follow health and safety policies to reduce injury risks
- Participate in emergency drills and education sessions
- Report incidents and concerns promptly
- Comply with health and safety regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Perform other duties as required
Who You Are:
- Passionate about promoting seniors’ health and happiness through engaging activities
- Capable of setting priorities and meeting deadlines
- Effective communicator in English, both verbal and written
- Hold a degree/diploma in relevant fields such as Gerontology, Kinesiology, or related disciplines
- Experience working with seniors and understanding motivational and wellbeing principles
- Certified or willing to certify in land and aquatic fitness for seniors
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; willing to obtain necessary licenses if needed
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Smart Serve/Serving It Right certification or willingness to obtain
- Physically capable of performing duties including lifting, driving, and leading fitness programs
- Familiar with provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Proficient in MS Office and virtual communication tools
- Additional certifications in specialized fitness or dementia support are assets
