Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is seeking an Activity Assistant to support activation and social engagement programs for residents. You will provide personal care assistance as needed and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote safety and wellbeing.

The role requires completion of an Activity Assistant program, a Grade 10 education, and a valid BC Class 4 driver’s license, with registration in the BC Care Aide registry.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 and completion of a recognized Activity Assistant Program, plus two (2) years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid BC Class 4 driver's license (unrestricted).
• Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a senior position, assists with activation and socialization programs for residents/clients, and provides personal care assistance as required.
• Works with the interdisciplinary team to support resident wellbeing and safety.
