Job description

Position title: Residence Support Worker

Position Type: Auxiliary-on-call

Program: River Place, Annex (note: these are all-female programs)

Under the direction of the Residential Supervisor, the Residence Support Worker is responsible for primary care, support and supervision of persons in residence. The residents may show evidence of behavioural, social, emotional or addiction disorders. The primary responsibility of this position is to respond to and work with persons therapeutically to effect positive behavioural change; building self-esteem and life skills in a residential setting. The incumbent works closely with other community agencies and resources to provide and coordinate services that enable clients to live as independently as possible.

For on-call positions in our female-only programs, we require individuals who:

  • identify as female and
  • are able to work with little notice, on any (or most) days, in any of our shifts (day is 8am-4pm, evening is 4pm-12am and overnight is 12am-8am)

Conditions of Employment (documents will be required before hire):

  • RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate (St. John’s Ambulance or Red Cross)
  • TB Clearance
  • Eligible for inclusion on OY vehicle insurance (this requires at least 3 years insured driving in Canada)

Wage: $29.64 or $31.12 / hour depending on the program
