Job summary

Job description

This is an anticipatory posting which is restricted to existing employees - only current employees of Opportunities Yukon will be considered.

We anticipate hiring a full-time, indeterminate, Residence Support Worker to work afternoon shifts (4pm to midnight).

Note: The results of this posting may be used to fill future indeterminate Resident Support Worker positions for afternoon shifts.

Under the direction of the Residential Supervisor, the Residence Support Worker is responsible for primary care, support and supervision of persons in residence. The residents may show evidence of behavioural, social, emotional or addiction disorders. The primary responsibility of this position is to respond to and work with persons therapeutically to effect positive behavioural change; building self-esteem and life skills in a residential setting. This is an awake-overnight position; in addition to providing client care, tasks to be performed will include cleaning, organizing, filing, documenting and food preparation.

Wage: $29.08, $29.64 or $31.12 / hour depending on the program
