About The Role: The Reserve Engineer (RE) is knowledgeable in computer hardware and provides top customer service. Serving as Cobalt's "boots on the ground," the RE is part of our rapid-response team for hardware failures at client sites. Occasionally, REs assist with field projects and new robot deployments. This is not a remote position.

What You'll Do:

  • Learn our robot hardware (training provided).
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical teammates about repairs and projects.
  • Address and resolve hardware failures safely and promptly.
  • Assist with field projects and robot deployments.
  • Be dispatched to client sites 1-3 times a month (more possible).
  • Report to a Regional Project Manager.

You're a Great Candidate If:

  • You are excited about robotics, AI, machine learning, and eager to learn.
  • You are familiar with hardware assembly/disassembly (tools provided).
  • You know computer hardware and electrical components (training provided).
  • You communicate well and are comfortable on platforms like Slack, Google Meet.
  • You are available Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm (flexible/on-call).
  • You are open to after-hours, weekend support.
  • You are presentable and comfortable speaking with clients from Fortune 100 & 500 companies.
  • You love providing excellent customer service.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with robotics, hardware, electrical components.
  • Experience in fast-paced startups.
  • Military or First Responder background.
  • Associate degree or higher.

The Reserve Engineer is a 1099 contractor role, non-remote. Compensation: $20-$50/hr DOE. No relocation support.
