About The role:

The Reserve Engineer (RE) is someone knowledgeable with computer hardware who provides our clients with top-notch customer service. The RE serves as Cobalt's "boots on the ground" and is part of our rapid-response field-operations team in case of hardware failures at a client site. Occasionally, REs assist with field projects and new robot deployments. The RE plays a crucial role in keeping our robots operational and our clients satisfied. Please note, this is not a remote position.

What You'll Do

  1. Learn our robot hardware inside and out to service and maintain our machines. (Paid training provided)
  2. Communicate with both technical and non-technical teammates regarding field repairs and projects.
  3. Address and resolve hardware failures on our robots promptly and safely.
  4. Assist with field operation projects and new robot deployments as needed.
  5. Be dispatched to client sites within your area to resolve hardware issues 1-3 times a month (potentially more).
  6. Report to a Regional Project Manager for tasking and delegation.

You're a Great Candidate If

  1. You're excited about robotics, AI, machine learning, and eager to learn.
  2. You are familiar with hardware assembly and disassembly (basic hand tools will be provided).
  3. You have knowledge of computer hardware and small electrical components (training provided).
  4. You are an excellent communicator, comfortable collaborating and receiving instructions via platforms like Slack, Google Meet, etc.
  5. You are available weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm (flexible/on-call schedule).
  6. You are open to support jobs after hours (5 pm-9 am) and on weekends (flexible/on-call).
  7. You are presentable and comfortable speaking with clients from Fortune 100 & 500 companies.
  8. You love providing excellent customer service.

Bonus Skills

  1. Experience with robotics.
  2. Experience with computer hardware and electrical components.
  3. Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  4. Military or First Responder background.
  5. Associate degree or higher.

The Reserve Engineer is a 1099 contractor position at Cobalt Robotics and is NOT remote. Compensation ranges from $20 to $50 USD/hr DOE. Cobalt Robotics does NOT cover relocation expenses for this role.
