Research Technician for the CHANTS Study

Are you interested in novel clinical research in the field of infectious disease?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Technician with laboratory experience to work on the laboratory analyses of clinical samples from the CHANTS study, which involves the first human challenge model for non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS).

What you will do

You will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with Research Associates, Clinical Fellows, Research Nurses, and other scientists to process and analyze samples from infected participants. Your primary responsibilities will include performing assays to analyze immune responses stimulated by NTS infection in experimentally infected volunteers. Techniques used will include serological, cellular immunology, and molecular methods to identify inflammatory and immune responses correlating with disease and protection, under supervision. Key procedures include bacterial and cell culture, ELISA, quantitative PCR, and data analysis.

You will need to plan and execute experiments to a high standard, maintain accurate records, and present findings to colleagues. You will also contribute to writing research reports and publications.

This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month contract based at South Kensington, with additional locations at Hammersmith and Charing Cross campuses.
