Department:Centre for Advancing Health Outcomes (Advancing Health) at Providence Research (PR)
Salary:$29.00 – $35.00 per hour. Full-time equivalent salary range: $56,767 – $68,512 per year (prorated for part-time work)
Full/Part-time:Part-time (30 hours/week)
Appointment Type:This is an ongoing, regular-status Providence Health Care (PHC) position (union-excluded); however, all research-funded positions are dependent on grant funding continuing to be available

Who We Are
Bridging the gap between data, research, and care, Advancing Health is a collaboration between cross-disciplinary scientists and expert research staff evaluating the effectiveness of health interventions at the population level. The Centre consists of over approximately 85 faculty members and 130–150 staff and other research personnel. From assessing the cost-effectiveness of a new drug or treatment option to informing policy decisions that change how care is delivered, Advancing Health seeks to improve health outcomes for all.

The Role
Reporting to the Centre Associate Director, the Research Program Coordinator supports Dr. Amy Salmon (Scientist and Centre Associate Director) and members of the Advancing Health Seniors Care team on projects located in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, BC. Responsibilities include supporting with study logistics (including plans for onsite data collection at locations in the Comox Valley and North Vancouver Island), organizing meetings, assisting with internal team communication, supporting the development of grant proposals, reports, and manuscripts, preparing applications for ethics reviews and renewals. This position does not include supervison of other staff.

Location
This position will be located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia. To begin, this position will be largely remote, with weekly onsite work and travel to various senior’s care study sites in order to complete the duties of the role. This includes work in long term care homes (e.g., Providence Living at The Views), hospitals (e.g., Comox Valley North Island Hospital), and community settings. Work space will also be available at one of these locations (TBD) in the Comox Valley.
This position includes visiting a health care site which has historically included requirements related to vaccinations and wearing medical masks to ensure safety.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and relevant work or volunteer research experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with health, social care, or community-based organizations in the Comox Valley is a strong asset.
