Job Title Research Manager, Canada

Job Description Summary

The Canada Research Manager will be a key spokesperson and content creator for Cushman & Wakefield’s global business, with a focus on Canada and North America. This position will be expected to understand and clearly communicate topics related to commercial real estate fundamentals, the investor and capital markets environment, and the macro economy. This position will support a variety of Cushman & Wakefield service lines and property type leadership. The Research Manager will gather and analyze data, interpret this information to identify trends in the market, produce reports, white papers and other thought leadership, and present in-person and virtually for internal and external client-facing audiences. This position will also partner with the Global Think Tank on other initiatives in supporting the broader enterprise, which may include accompanying brokers to client pitches/presentations, speaking at internal client events and industry events, contributing on other thought leadership content across the firm, supporting data collection/analysis and slide development for business development teams and Global Think Tank initiatives. This position will reside in the Global Think Tank and will report directly to the Head of Americas Insights.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Generate market presentations, including gathering macro-economic and real estate market data and providing analysis on key industry trends
  • Responsible for working with the Global Think Tank and other members of the organization in developing and producing deliverables that may be used to strengthen existing client relationships, drive new business development and enhance the brand of Cushman & Wakefield
  • Responsible for increasing firm visibility, specifically in Canada, and establishing Cushman & Wakefield Research as the premier thought leader, with both quantitative and qualitative contributions
  • Drive thought leadership, including webcasts and written analysis
  • Speak at industry events, provide quotes to local and national media, as needed
  • Contribute to Think Tank thought leadership
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to coordinate thought leadership content globally
  • Assist and advise clients, both internal and external, on research trends that may impact them
  • Analyze and compile quarterly data, and then write quarterly (national) Canada MarketBeat reports for select property types (i.e., office, industrial, etc.)
  • Coordinate and fulfill research requests for fee earners, account managers, and business development teams, in coordination with local research and others, as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, economics or similar preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in research and client-facing roles, real estate experience required
  • Knowledge of the complexities and rules within the CRE industry along with key market metrics and indicators
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
