The Faculty of Nursing has two in-person locations: Fredericton campus, Moncton site and a virtual delivery program in the Miramichi. The faculty also has a partnership for a nurse-led clinical at the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre (FDCHC).

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Manager manages mixed methods research projects in the areas of family planning and prisoner health.

  • Plan, conduct, and analyze qualitative interviews and focus groups with two key groups: abortion seekers across Canada and abortion care providers.
  • Recruit participants in partnership with abortion clinics and family planning organizations across the country.
  • Liaise with national partners on a Health Canada-funded abortion access project, including health professional organizations, correctional facilities, community groups, and the Contraception and Abortion Research Team (UBC Medicine).
  • Collaborate with contract staff-such as lived experience experts and a graphic designer-and a community advisory board to develop knowledge mobilization tools.
  • Create resources to support abortion and contraception access for pregnant clients, correctional facility staff, and abortion care professionals.
  • Promote culturally safe, ethical, and dignity-supporting care for individuals experiencing incarceration.
  • Manage project operations, including maintaining the project charter, documentation, budget, and organizing in-person and virtual meetings and events.
  • Lead writing initiatives such as scholarly publications, research ethics applications, funding proposals, and presentation materials.
  • Submit academic work for peer review and manage revisions in collaboration with co-authors and the principal investigator.
  • Coordinate with UNB Library services as needed to support research and publication activities.
