Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking an experienced Research Laboratory Assistant to join the David Braley Research Institute. In this full-time role, you will support research projects focusing on skin regeneration and associated therapies, maintain lab operations, and assist in data management while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
The David Braley Research Institute (affiliated with McMaster University) has an immediate opening for a full-time, experienced Research Laboratory Assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Marc Jeschke – Professor, Vice President of Research at Hamilton Health Sciences.
Our laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanism and developing therapies for skin regeneration and attenuating trauma-induced stress, hypermetabolism, inflammation and sepsis.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will assist ongoing research projects in the laboratory, which involves examining, evaluating, and preparing study-related documents. They will also help team members prepare for studies by assisting with equipment preparation and clean-up. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining the lab's day-to-day operations, including restocking reagents, maintaining equipment, housekeeping research environment, and managing inventory. The candidate will assist with ordering laboratory supplies, updating laboratory procedures, and ensuring that biosafety documentation is current. They will also need to communicate and keep records of experimental data and participate in internal monitoring, auditing, and quality assurance activities. The candidate will enter study data as needed under the guidance of a manager or delegated supervisor.
Schedule Work Hours
Temporary full-time hours (37.5 hours / week). The position is temporary for 12 months.
