Overview

We are currently seeking a Research Ethics Coordinator to join our Office of Research Services team.

The Research Ethics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the protection of the research participants and assurance of regulatory requirements/compliances and is the primary resource for all faculty, staff and students with the Research Ethics Board (REB) at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with the human research ethics compliance process, requirements, and/or research in a university, government project, or agency is required.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive issues and materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of policies and the regulatory framework governing research in a university setting. Knowledge of research procedures, guidelines and policies as well as of Canadian regulatory and policy requirements for conducting research.
  • Highly motivated and creative to meet the challenges within a complex and evolving university environment.
  • Experience interpreting agency and regulatory guidelines and policies, and communicating those interpretations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to exercise high level of tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of contacts.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (including databases, Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet).
  • Possession of a valid driver\'s license and access to a vehicle is required.

Salary Information
