Cohere is a leading security-first enterprise AI company that builds foundation AI models and end-to-end products for real-world business problems. We are global, with offices in Toronto and around the world, seeking Research Engineers to join Cohere Labs and contribute to scalable AI systems.

You’ll work closely with scientists and engineers to implement methods, run large-scale experiments, and help scale infrastructure for research programs.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in ML/NLP or related areas (Master’s degree, industry experience, or equivalent hands-on work).
• Experience writing clean, reliable code and building reusable systems.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and model optimization techniques (PyTorch, RLHF, finetuning, evaluation).

Responsibilities

• Build experiments, debug models, scale training pipelines and turn research ideas into working systems.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement new methods and run large-scale experiments.
• Help shape infrastructure that supports research programs.
